You don't have to run cables or cut holes in walls. Rupp offered an easy plugnplay wireless solution, others use zoned audio, multiple USB soundcards, et al.ĭoing a wireless speaker system is non invasive as you have a "portable" wireless speaker that you can literally place just about anywhere. In a synopsis there is a variety of ways to do this its really up to you and what you would feel comfortable using. I did notice when requested to put a light can in one of the hallways and a wall switch the insulation stuff was a non issue. It was a PITA though because of the high ceilling and carting an 18 foot ladder into the house without damaging furniture etc type stuff (dinging the furniture with a ladder can be low on the WAF).

I would try to guage my timing such that I could install the speakers, test them and clean up the insulation in a span of a few hours doing maybe one pair of speakers in one time frame. Just opening a hole into the ceiling or climbing into the attic generated a whole bunch of insulation snow like that would just fall from the openings. Mostly because much of the work was using a ladder and going into the attic where we had layers of insulation put in. When I installed the speakers in the walls where mudplates were in Florida, I asked my wife to go shopping. Some folks are not comfortable with doing drywall type stuff and some are. I utilized Russound speakers outside and do have external on bracket speakers in the garage along with a smaller pair of speakers mounted under my work cabinet. I did the same with the deck outdoor speakers this past summer with regular and subzone for audio.
The audio as in other places in the house is its own subzone and can be switched over to the house zoned audio. That and I utilize a different voice fonts with it. Today I do have the garage incorporated into the rest of the house audio but still utilize the speaker dot exe running on the touchscreen. That said it also ran the speaker dot exe client. I did though have a touchscreen in there for my sprinkler system. One of the last areas I did was the garage. From here went to using a Russound zoned system a few years back. Originally I set up HS sound many years ago with the AB8SS. An FYI relating to what I do with the speaker dot exe client.
